Admission Policy

Admission and Registration for the upcoming scholastic year 2019- 2020:

UCA welcomes all parents registering their children daily from Saturday through Thursday from 8:00 am till 3:00 pm.

Registered students at UCA are considered as registered for the whole academic year, therefore, they must pay school fees and all of the other required fees in full, since their withdrawal will leave vacant seats that could have been occupied by other students, either in the classrooms or transportation. In case of withdrawal during the year, the student will not be excused from paying the rest of the unpaid fees; moreover, the amount previously paid will not be paid back.

STUDENT ADMISSION

It is the policy of the school to accommodate students of many nationalities.  UCA reserves the right to evaluate each applicant to determine acceptance and appropriate placement.  Previous school records will be reviewed and considered in determining placement.

1. Students will be administered Placement tests for admission.  The school administration will be responsible for identifying the tests to be taken.

2. Students will be interviewed for admission.

3. Students scoring within one year of expected grade level or above on placement tests and passing the interview will be considered for admission.

4. Applicants for grades 7-12 must demonstrate English language proficiency.  Students in grades 1-6 who fail to demonstrate proficiency in areas       that assess the English language (e.g. reading, verbal comprehension, expression, etc.) may be considered for admission if they demonstrate competencies in the area of mathematics within expected grade level or higher.

5. Students must have certain level of English proficiency to be considered for admission.

6. Children who have shown chronic failure in a previous school setting or who have required extensive disciplinary actions may result in non-admission or some type of stipulated placement. Students who are granted probationer admission to UCA will be placed on a three month probationary period for evaluation of admission and placement decision.

7. UCA, typically, does not accept students who, because of educational, emotional, cognitive, or physical disabilities require special education classes or services to fully benefit from the regular classroom setting.  The Principal may elect to accept a student with special educational needs conditionally when, in the Principal’s judgment, the following conditions are met:

A.  The student is capable of fully benefiting from the instructions provided.

B.The student does not require more individual attention than his or her peers.

C.  The student does not become a behavior problem in the school setting or outside campus.

D.The student is capable of establishing a rewarding social adjustment in the setting, without becoming the focal point of inappropriate and/or disruptive behavior.

8. Students admitted to UCA might not be considered for admission in the following year if they:

  • A.      Fail to pay the tuition fees according to UCA Policies and deadlines.
  • B.      Fail to abide by UCA rules and regulations.
  • C.      Fail to remediate or improve their academic performance.
  • D.      Fail to submit re-admission form on time. The parent fills out the student's record and submits the required documents upon acceptance.

9. Should the student be accepted, the parent will proceed with paying the seat reservation fees of JD 500 (non-refundable payment) deducted from the tuition fees, and then he/she shall receive the acceptance letter and proceed with the admission procedures.

10.  The parents should submit student's file authenticated by MOE from previous school before the beginning of the academic year and pay the tuition fees.

11.   UCA reserves the right to deny admission of any student without justification.

12.   Parents/guardians must accept all school policies, rules and regulations in addition to signing all required forms.

13.  Parents/guardians shall bear responsibility to provide the school with probative documents needed of the student or any part thereof.
